Product Attributes help pass along important information about your Products to your customers, Administrators, and Multifront. New Products inherit their Product Attributes from their respective Product Attribute Category.

Product Attributes are comprised of Attribute Details and an Attribute Type.

  • Attribute Details are the actual descriptive bits of information which are associated to Products.
  • Attribute Types determines what type of input to accept and, ultimately, how Multifront will interact with your Attribute.

The multi-front comes with many default Product Attributes to get you off the ground. These are our most commonly used Attributes to help Administrators start creating Products in their stores, however, mileage may vary. During Product creation, you'll be able to choose which Attributes appear when you choose a Product Attribute Category.

When you create a new Product Attribute, they will always have the same commonly used attributes found in "Default".

Product Attribute pass Product Attributes to Products and are a container for Product Attribute Groups. Administrators will be prompted to reference a Product Attribute Category during the Products creation process. Once a Product Attribute Category is chosen, your Product will inherit all of the Product Attributes contained in the Groups associated with the Category.

Product Attribute Groups become associated with Product Attribute Categories and are a container for Product Attributes. Administrators will be prompted to reference an existing Product Group during the Product Attributes creation process.

Product Attribute Groups allow Administrators to reference multiple Product Attributes simultaneously. Only dissociated groups can be associated with a Product Attribute Category.

Imagine we need to unload a car full of groceries. Thankfully, bags are a thing. Bags work like Product Attribute Groups. Rather than trying to manage lots of smaller, individual Product Attributes, it's easier to shove a bunch of them into a Product Attribute Group and associate the Group wherever you want your Attributes to go.
  • The "Default" Product Attribute Group cannot be removed.
  • Custom attributes can be added to the "Default" group.
