Categories is the organizational hierarchy for products within the context a webstore. In this section of Multifront, Categories are created (and edited) and can be associated with any existing products. Later, Admins will be able to associate a category to a catalog from the Catalogs section of PIM.

Admin users can view and filter the added categories from the PIM >> Categories.

Important - Admin users can use the Catalog filter shortcut to filer the categories using the catalog where they are associated. Note that the information fetched after the filer shortcut is applied comes from SQL.

Creating a Category Workflow

  1. Add New Categories
  2. Category is associated to Products via Categories page
  3. Category is associated to Catalogs via Catalogs page
  4. Category is structured within Catalogs via Catalogs page, using Master Category Folder Hierarchy.

Notes:

  • Categories can be reused or copied
  • Category creation is a multi-section process. In order to create and associate a Category, Admins will need to visit more than one section of Multifront. Steps 1 and 2, of "Creating a Category" are done here, in the Categories. Steps 3 and 4 are completed in Catalogs.
